Superficial skin lesions, burns and open or contaminated wounds:
F10®
Germicidal Barrier Ointment is effective in both superficial lesions and deep penetrating
wounds. Defects can be packed with the Ointment or applied to wounds
that are then covered by dressings.
Where appropriate, first clean and flush the lesion with F10®
Antiseptic Solution, and then apply the Ointment directly.
Packing skin and scale defects: Defects in the body integument can be packed with F10® Germicidal Barrier Ointment. The protective and antimicrobial actions assist in the regeneration of normal functional tissue and assist in preventing (re-)infection.

Post fly-strike:
Use to treat the damaged tissue to promote normal healing, and to help
prevent re-infestation. Can be used in conjunction with
F10®
Germicidal Wound Spray with Insecticide. See our fly-strike page for more information on using
F10®
products as a preventative.
Open wounds: Use in situations where open wounds may be susceptible to fly-strike.
Can be used in conjunction with
F10®
Germicidal Wound Spray with Insecticide.
F10®
Germicidal Barrier Ointment
with Insecticide is pink in colour (see picture above), so it will be
noticeable if it has been washed off, or has soaked in to the skin, and should be reapplied at that time to maintain the insecticidal protection.
As it contains Cypermethrin, F10® Germicidal Barrier Ointment with Insecticide should not be used on cats. Do not contaminate waterways as toxic to aquatic life.
