F10 Reptile Disinfectant Range

The range of F10 Reptile Disinfectants are based on the core actives of the F10 range. They are proven effective against all known types of pathogen including those bacteria (e.g. enterobacteria, salmonella, E.coli, pseudomaonas, pasturella), viruses, fungi and spores that specifically affect reptiles.

At working dilutions they are non-corrosive, non-toxic, non-tainting and non-irritating, and are also chlorine- and aldehyde-free. They won't damage equipment, and can be left to air dry for more a effective and time-efficient disinfection process.

There are two products in the range, detailed below.

F10CL Reptile Disinfectant Concentrate

A concentrated disinfectant, which achieves a broad spectrum kill of micro-organisms which may be potentially harmful to reptile species.

It is an excellent product for achieving a high level of biosecurity effectively and safely as it poses no hazard to yourself and is completely safe to use in presence of animals when used at recommended concentrations.

Available in 1 litre bottles.

F10 Reptile Disinfectant, Ready to Use

Ready-to-use, diluted F10CL Reptile Disinfectant, pre-diluted to a 1:50 concentration.

It offers the same broad spectrum kill of potentially harmful micro-organisms as the F10CL, and with the same level of safety.

Available in a 1 litre bottle with a trigger spray or as a 1 litre refill.

Uses for the Reptile disinfectant range

CL Reptile Disinfectant and Reptile Disinfectant Ready to Use

  • Effective and safe general disinfection of all hard surfaces, such as tables, floors, vivariums and equipment
  • For animal housekeeping procedures such as the cleaning of food and water bowls
  • Fogging of entire rooms and hard to reach surfaces
  • Fogging of air spaces to eliminate air-borne micro-organisms

Note - The products should be used on surfaces which are already 'clean', but need disinfecting - i.e. remove any visible dirt from the surface before use. For a ‘one-step’ product for light duty cleaning, where a detergent is needed, use F10CLXD Veterinary Disinfectant Cleanser. For the removal of biofilms, use F919SC Degreaser before disinfecting.

Recommended dilution rates for F10CL

  • General disinfection at 1:100 (10ml in 1 litre)
  • High level disinfection against bacteria, fungi and most viruses at 1:50 (20ml to 1 litre)
  • For use against the most resistant viruses at 1:25 (40ml in 1 litre)

These dilution rates mean that F10 is one of the most cost-effective disinfectant ranges on the market.

Note that the Ready to Use is diluted at 1:50 - therefore if a stronger solution (i.e. 1:25) is required it would be necessary to create a solution by diluting F10CL.

How to use the products

  • Remove any dirt from the surfaces so they are visibly clean (pre-clean to optimise the disinfection process)
  • Add the required amount of F10CL to 1 litre of water - i.e. to create a dilution rate of 1:50 add 20ml* (a 20ml dosing pump can be bought separately) . If you have the Ready to Use product this can be used straight from the bottle*
  • Spray or wash the surfaces/object using the solution
  • Leave to air dry - no need to rinse or wipe off the F10 solution

* 1:50 is recommended for efficiency against most pathogens. If more resistant viruses are known to be present, use at 1:25 (40ml/litre) (the Ready to Use is pre-diluted at 1:50, so is not suitable when 1:25 is required). For general disinfection use at 1:100 (10ml/litre).

Related products

F10SC Veterinary Disinfectant

The same disinfecting properties as F10CL, but in a more concentrated form (1litre SC is the equivalent of 5 litres of CL)

F10CLXD Veterinary Disinfectant

The same disinfecting properties as F10CL but with an added cleaning detergent

F10 Wipes

Biodegradable, single-use wipes impregnated with F10SC for instant clean up and disinfection

Which should I choose? CL or Ready to Use?

Whichever you are more comfortable using, the resulting disinfection performance will be the same. Ready to Use has the convenience of being pre-diluted, so can be used immediately and is at a recommended dilution. Buying the concentrated CL, and diluting it yourself, is more cost effective, and in some instances a different dilution rate may be required - the Ready to Use is at 1:50 - so having the concentrate gives greater flexibility.
