F10CLXD Veterinary Disinfectant/Cleanser

F10CLXD Veterinary Disinfectant/Cleanser has the same broad spectrum of kill as F10CL Veterinary Disinfectant but with added detergent to provide a ‘one-step’ product for light duty cleaning and disinfection in routine hygiene applications. It is a soapy liquid with a slight pine fragrance and a green appearance.

At working dilutions it is non-corrosive, non-toxic, non-tainting and non-irritating, and is also chlorine- and aldehyde-free.

Available in 5 litre bottles.

The F10SCXD and F10CLXD products are chemically the same but CLXD is 5 times more dilute than the SCXD (Super Concentrate). So 5 litres of CLXD is equivalent to 1 litre of SCXD in terms of the amount of disinfection cleansing that it can do.

What is F10CLXD used for?

  • Safe and effective cleansing whilst reducing the microbial load.
  • Cleaning and disinfection of: floors; walls; tiles; kennels/cages; food and drink bowls; bedding; tables and basins

The recommended dilution rates of F10CLXD

  • General disinfection at 1:100 (10ml in 1 litre)
  • High level disinfection against bacteria, fungi and most viruses (including coronavirus) at 1:50 (20ml to 1 litre)
  • For use against the most resistant viruses such as Parvovirus or PBFD at 1:25 (40ml in 1 litre)

These dilution rates mean that F10 is one of the most cost-effective disinfectant ranges on the market.

How to use F10CLXD

  • Clear away any debris, and rinse with water
  • Add the required amount of F10CLXD to 1 litre of water - i.e. to create a dilution rate of 1:50 add 20ml*
  • Spray or wash the surfaces/object using the solution
  • Due to the cleaning detergent contained in F10CLXD, any food bowls or instruments that are to come in close contact with animals should be rinsed with clean water to ensure no soap residue is left
  • Once cleaned, spraying with F10SC or F10CL solution, and then allowing to air dry, will ensure continued disinfection

* 1:50 is recommended for efficiency against most pathogens. If more resistant viruses are known to be present, use at 1:25 (40ml/litre). For general disinfection use at 1:100 (10ml/litre).

What's the difference between F10CLXD and F10CL?

F10CLXD is a disinfectant cleanser, and the added detergent means you can clean and disinfect in a single step. F10CL is just a disinfectant.

F10CLXD helps by removing the organic matter allowing the disinfectant to act against the pathogens with less interference. F10CL works better on clean surfaces, but has the advantage that it can be left to air dry without leaving a soapy residue.

There are therefore situations where F10CLXD or F10CL may be more appropriate than the other for the task you are undertaking. More information is available in the adjacent video.

Which should I choose? CLXD or SCXD?

Whichever you are more comfortable using, the resulting disinfection performance will be the same. Some feel the CLXD is better for them as you need to be less precise with the measuring (for high level disinfection you would use 20ml in 1 litre of water, whereas you would only use 4ml of SCXD in 1 litre of water). Whereas others prefer the smaller bottle of the SCXD.
